ADGI Design Week 2026

As graphic design increasingly intersects with other creative disciplines, ADGI Design Week 2026 explores the possibilities beyond conventional boundaries. Graphic design is no longer limited to posters, publications, or digital screens. From architecture and product design to creative technology, its influence continues to shape how people experience the world. This evolution takes center stage at ADGI Design Week 2026, returning for its third edition from October 14–18 at ASHTA District 8, Jakarta, under the theme OFF GRID. Organized by the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI) and presented through GRAFIS’26, this year's event invites audiences to reconsider what graphic design can become when it moves beyond traditional formats and embraces interdisciplinary collaboration. At the heart of the event is GRAFIS’26, featuring 54 exhibitors from Indonesia and the surrounding region. The exhibition demonstrates how graphic design can extend beyond the page, transforming typography into spatial experiences and visual identities into physical products.

The program also revisits Indonesia's visual history through Museum DGI: Y2K Design Era, presented by Indonesia Kaya. Looking back at the period following Reformasi, the exhibition explores how early internet culture, independent publications, and grassroots design communities shaped a generation of Indonesian designers. An international exhibition featuring selected winners of the D&AD Awards 2026 and TDC72 brings award-winning design, advertising, lettering, and typography to Jakarta, offering a wider perspective on contemporary creative practices. Together, these exhibitions connect Indonesia's design heritage with contemporary experimentation and international influences.

Beyond visual showcases, ADGI Design Talks’26, taking place from October 16–18, provides a platform for designers, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas about the industry's future. Collaborative sessions with the Type Directors Club, Thai Graphic Designers Association, and Grafis Masa Kini encourage dialogue across creative communities and national borders. Supporting the next generation is The Design Talent, which showcases work by emerging designers from ADGI-affiliated educational institutions. The initiative creates opportunities for recent graduates to connect with studios, brands, and educators, bridging the gap between design education and professional practice.

Meanwhile, the ADGI Design Market brings independent creators and design-led brands together through publications, prints, merchandise, and everyday objects. The market highlights how graphic design extends beyond visual communication into daily life while providing a platform for independent creative businesses. ADGI Design Week 2026 also forms part of the fifth World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE)–Creativillage, organized by Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy. This collaboration connects graphic design with broader discussions about the country's creative industries and the opportunities created through cross-disciplinary collaboration. Ultimately, OFF GRID encourages audiences to look at graphic design beyond its familiar definitions. By bringing together historical perspectives, contemporary work, and emerging talent, ADGI Design Week 2026 presents design as an evolving practice shaped by experimentation, cultural exchange, and new ways of thinking.
