Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2025 has officially begun. Taking place at the Jakarta Convention Center, this year’s event highlights the rich culture of Jakarta through fashion, creativity, and community spirit.
With the theme Ronakultura (from the words “ronak,” meaning vibrant, and “kultura,” meaning culture), IFW 2025 reflects the energy and diversity of the capital. From May 28 to June 1, over 200 designers from across Indonesia and beyond will take part in shows, exhibitions, talk shows, performances, and business forums.
The event is a collaboration between APPMI, BTN Bank, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. It aims to showcase local talent, especially small businesses, and promote fashion as both cultural expression and economic opportunity.
The opening celebration featured traditional dance by Teater Abnon, a fashion show with designers from Armenia, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and a musical performance by Indonesian artist Dicky Khalif.
“Fashion is more than just style. It’s about creativity, identity, and how we connect with others,” said APPMI President Poppy Dharsono. “This year, we want to spotlight how Jakarta’s culture can inspire and empower.”
BTN’s support highlights its long-term commitment to Indonesia’s creative economy. “Fashion and lifestyle can become a multiplier effect for preserving our cultural wealth,” said BTN’s SME and Retail Funding Director Rully Setiawan.
The event also welcomes international designers, reinforcing Jakarta’s role as a global fashion hub. These collaborations help open up global markets while empowering local creatives.
“Fashion isn’t just a trend. It’s an industry that supports the economy and tells the story of who we are,” said Deputy Trade Minister Pahala Mansury. “Through IFW, we’re combining culture, business, and innovation.”
